Conversion

Conversion

Let's say that we are spiritually motivated to serve Christ, and go forth after Mass to evangelize and share the good news about the Gospel.

But if we were to go up to someone who is not Baptized, or someone who is doing something that we don't approve of, and if we were to say: "You know, you're a sinner!  You should stop what you are doing and start changing your life."

Are they going to start changing their life? Maybe. But chances are, they may get mad and angry at you for being judgmental for pronouncing judgment on them. It may make things better.  But chances are, it may make things a lot worse, and you could lose a friend.

What may be a better way? If we have a close relationship with God, or take time to develop one, we will naturally come across as an authentic, genuine and sincere person. If we focus primarily on sharing God's word, not in an overpowering or domineering way, but in a reverent way that means something to us, it can also have a lasting impression on the other person, or even sow a seed in their soul.

By focusing on God's word, it allows the Holy Spirit to work and guide us and guide others to Christ.
