Heavenly Father,
We humbly gather here today and recall the mystery of your love in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. With humility, we ask that you keep us, O Lord, as the apple of your eye. Do not keep us at a distance but stay near as we seek your pardon for our iniquities and defects. I confess...
Heavenly Father,
Today, you reveal your son in the most merciful way. St Mary Magdalene came to him at the house of Simon the Pharisee. While everyone was shocked and surprised that she was present. But your beloved Son knew her. And he warmly welcomed her.
Everyone knew her background. She was a public sinner, a loose woman, and lady of the night. Everyone looks at her with lust or shame. But your son sees her differently. For your beloved son, She is also a child of God. He looks beyond the exterior and looks deep into her soul.
She displays great repentance for her sins. She cries like a river. Moreover, she uses those tears to wipe the feet of your son. And she does not hesitate to break the alabaster jar of perfumed oil over his head.
Loving Father, how beautiful is the passage today. If only we could see this event take place before our eyes. To see the contempt and disdain of the people, but yet see the eyes of your son, full of mercy and compassion.
Lord, we want to run to you when we are in need. When no one accepts us. When no one has mercy upon us, we know that you warmly welcome the repentant soul. May we leave our tears of bitterness and remorse at your feet. And leave with gratitude and joy that we have been forgiven.
Final Blessing: may your presence be a source of comfort and joy to everyone you encounter today. May the people praise and give thanks to Almighty God because of you.
