After Election day, it would be easy to give up our hope and
fall into discouragement. The effort to
fight for the policies on life seems to be in vain. The view of marriage will be distorted. Not only did Washington State pass Initiative
1000, but also the control on buying and selling liquor has been taken
away. In addition, Washington State has
now legalized the use of Marijuana. Is
there anything else that is not forbidden in our State?
Perhaps, what is forbidden for us is to give up hope. Hope does not depend upon the popular
vote. Hope does not depend upon the
policies of the land. Hope does not
depend upon the outside forces. It is a
Theological virtue, and its objective is God and God alone.
We may not see the immediate effects, but it will certainly
make an impact on the generations to come.
The next generation will begin to wonder, why we made these kinds of
allotment. They will certainly have many
questions and seek for responses.
Within the walls of the Church, may the Lord continue to
shield us from the effects of these new policies. May this holy place always be a sanctuary, especially
for all who seek to grow in holiness;
For all who strive to remain faithful to Christ and the traditions of
the Apostles and the current teaching authority. Don’t give into discouragement. Don’t allow the new policies to take away
your zeal for serving Jesus. Holy Mother
Church has survived some of the biggest crisis over the last 2000 years, and
will continue to move forward with faith in God the Most Holy Trinity, and with
hope in the promise of eternal life.
Peace in Christ!
