June 12, 2019.  Today is my 15 years of priesthood. It is a privilege to serve Christ, and to serve with you here at St. John Vianney for the last two years. Looking back, it has always been a grace and blessing from God, and Mother Teresa would say: “All is grace.” I do remember an event which happened the year before Diaconate Ordination, and I happen to be in Rome for a month pilgrimage, following in the footsteps of St. Peter and Paul, as we traveled throughout the countries of Turkey, Greece and Italy. One evening, I had a crises experience. I heard the words: You're too young, you don't have enough life experience, you don't have all the answers. So that evening, I called the Vocation Director, and shared with him that I need some time off, just to have more time for discernment. I was very surprised, when he said: “Sure”, take all the time that you need. When he said that, it felt like a huge burden was taken off my shoulders. There was a great sense of relief. But the next day, something amazing happened. I heard very comforting words. The words are: “It's not about you. It's about Jesus. People come, not because they want to see you, but because they want to see Christ. You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to serve Christ, and point to him, talk about him.” Those words were wonderful, and it changed my life. So that evening again, I called the Vocation Director back, and said: “I changed my mind. I think i'm going to stay.” Back then, we didn't have facetime, or fast internet like we have today, so the Phone Bill was not cheap. At the time, I didn't realize it, but in retrospect, I think the thoughts on the first day was not from God. But on the second day, the thoughts were from the Holy Spirit. Once again, I'm grateful to God for the vocation, and I'm grateful to you for your prayers, and support. Glory be to God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
